As a result of financial difficulties, Bridget and her family were evicted from their farm in Churchtown, Athea. The farm was then acquired by a Tom Barrett, grandfather of Dr. Barrett of Glin, Co. Limerick. It is thought the farm is still owned by the Barrett family.
