I had been told that Ellen married a Jack Scanlon of Knocknagorna, Athea. However, it appears Ellen was married to an Edmond Scanlon of Knocknagorna as no marriage record could be located for an Ellen Hayes and a John (Jack) Scanlon, nor were any baptism records found for any children of theirs; however, marriage and baptism records were located that relate to Edmond Scanlon and Ellen Hayes of Knocknagorna.
Upon his marriage to Ellen, who was a widow, Edmond took over the running of her farm in Knocknagorna.
Edmond died aged 66 of heart disease.
