Catherine SULLIVAN (caution: not verified)

(ABT 1810S - Bef 15 Apr 1875)

I had been told that Thade's first wife was a Miss Mullane who had a farm in Dirreen that was "capable of feeding nine or ten cows". The same source told me there were no children from this marriage.

However, no evidence of a marriage between a Timothy Hayes and a Miss Mullane can be found. A marriage record does exist for a Timothy Hayes and a Catherine Sullivan who were married in Athea on 19 June 1865. I am therefore assuming that it was Catherine rather than Miss Mullane whom Thade married, but I am adding a caution beside Catherine's name. It appears Thade and Catherine had no children as no baptism records have been located.

Assuming Thade did marry Catherine above, then it is clear that Catherine was much older than Thade. She would already have been married to her first husband, Thomas (1932), before Thade was even born (1834). She and Thade were married for less than 10 years when she died.
