My husband has been DNA-matched by Ancestry with a great-great-great-grandchild of John's, proving what we had already thought, that John above was closely related to my husband's great-great-great-grandfather John Gordon (born about 1750), possibly even being his son. Because the type of DNA match ties in approximately with John above being a son of the older John, I have listed him as such, but because we have no documented evidence to prove this I had added the caution.
