Individual Details

A Cornelius Mulvihill died aged 69 in Clieveragh, Listowel, Co. Kerry on 20 October 1938. The informant was his widow, Annie. I am told Con and Annie lived in Bedford, Listowel, but as Clieveragh is adjacent to Bedford I am assuming that this was our Con above. His age at death does not tie in exactly with the year of birth I have for our Con (1863) but ages at death on death records in those days in rural Ireland were often unreliable.

I have been told by a family source that Con was disinherited when he married Annie as she was so young. She was 20 and Con was about 42. This may have been the reason they moved after the marriage to Annie's native county of Waterford, where they lived for several years before returning to north Kerry.
