Denis Joseph MOLONEY

Denis's baptismal sponsors were Thomas Moloney and Mary Moloney.

Denis studied for the priesthood at All Hallows College, Dublin and was ordained for the diocese of Pittsburgh on 25 June 1907. He immediately left for the United States and began working as assistant pastor at the St. John the Evangelist's Church, South Side, Pittsburgh in October 1907. He was promoted to pastor five years later and thereafter served at St. Ann's Church, Waynesburg, Pennsylvania (1912-1923), St Malachy's Church, South Side, Pittsburgh (1923-25), and finally in the parish of St. Joseph, New Brighton, Pennsylvania (1925-1946). Fr. Denis was also dean ('vicar forane') of Lawrence County, Pennsylvania from 1935 to 1946. He died after a brief illness in January 1946.
