Edmund was an only child. Prior to his marriage he lived in the family home at 3 Holland Place Chambers in Kensington, later living with his wife and family at 9 Marlborough Road, Ealing, London. Edmund was an estate agent, although the 1939 Register (taken in September of that year) tells us he was an "ambulance driver, Ealing (attending instruction courses)", presumably in preparation for bomb attacks.
