Individual Details
Richard WOULFE
(Abt 1790 - )
Richard's branch of the Woulfe family tree were known as the Crioch Woulfes (apparently Crioch was the name of an old townland in Athea, Co. Limerick), who appear to have been connected to the Woulfe family of Cratloe, Athea. I have been DNA-matched by Ancestry with a number of members of both families so it is likely they were related.
The Ancestry website suggests that Richard was a grandson of Maurice James Woulfe of Cratloe (1690-1792) who is possibly my 5th great-grandfather. According to Ancestry, Richard's father may have been a Patrick Woulfe (c.1755-c.1820), while my family tree shows Maurice having a son named Patrick (known as 'Wiggie') who was also born around 1755. Perhaps Ancestry is correct and 'their' Patrick is 'my' Wiggie.
