Individual Details
John FINUCANE (caution: relationship to brother not verified)
( - )
There is a Griffith's Valuation (1851/52) entry for a John Finucane who, with a Daniel Finucane, leased a house and 11 acres in Carhoonakineely from a Richard Hinde Esq. Could the John in Griffith's Valuation be our John above? It is perhaps unlikely since our John emigrated to the United States as a young man. The only other Finucane to occupy land in Carhoonakineely at the time was a Patrick Finucane who, with a Thomas Quinn, leased a house and garden of one acre from Mr. Hinde.
John and his family went by the name of Finnigan after they emigrated to the States.
Please note that I am not certain John was a brother of Frank as listed here, although it does appear they were related.
