John HANRAHAN

John received his primary education in Enniskeen (near Ballineen), Co. Cork and later in St. Finbarr's College in Cork city. He then studied philosophy and theology at St. Kieran's College, Kilkenny, and Canon Law at the Irish College in Rome. He was ordained a priest in 1938.
John ministered in British Columbia, Canada, first in Kamloops and then at the Holy Rosary Cathedral in Vancouver. He was then sent to St. Anthony's Parish in Vancouver where he served for 20 years, from 1949 until 1969. He died at the age of about 62 having suffered ill health in the final years of his life.
