Kathleen (Sr. Evelyn) GLYNN

Kathleen was a sister in the Order of Cistercians of the Strict Observance (OCSO), an enclosed order. According to her obituary in the St. Mary's Abbey newsletter, she inherited musical talent from her mother, Evelyn, and studied in England, obtaining a Licentiate from the Guild Hall of Music, London, and a second Diploma from Trinity College of Music, London. She taught music in England for a time before returning to Ireland in 1957 when she entered the OCSO convent at St. Mary's Abbey, Glencairn, Lismore, Co. Waterford. She made First Profession on 27 December 1959 and Solemn Profession exactly three years later. Known as Sr. Evelyn she spent most of the rest of her life at St. Mary's.
