Individual Details
(Abt 1790 - 30 Aug 1859)
According to the 1851 census of England, John was a widower and shoemaker. He is listed with members of the household of his brother Michael, indicating that he may have been living at the time with Michael and his family (at 2 Market Court in Kensington). Michael died in June 1851 and it seems that sometime between then and John's own death in 1877 John had to move into Kensington Workhouse, where he died. According to his death certificate he was a "working shoemaker" and the cause of death was what looks like "chronic dyspepsia". That John was probably living with his brother and later living in a workhouse possibly indicates that there were no children from the marriage or any children had died young.
