From Jan Fortado in Massachussets, a great-great-great-granddaughter of Garrett's brother, Richard, we have some information on the Roche family:
Garrett and his brothers, Richard and Paddy, were from the townland of Flemingstown in the parish of Kilgullen in Co. Cork. It is thought that they could have had more siblings. Garrett, Richard and Paddy were very close. It is believed that Richard was the eldest - he was born about 1775, and Garrett was born possibly in the late 1790s. Richard married Kit Farrell, Garrett married Kit Hennessy, and Paddy married Moll Luddy.
