Individual Details

Ellen (Ellie) KEARNEY

(1880 - )

It is possible that Ellie emigrated to the United States as an Ellen Kearney from Newtownsandes arrived at Ellis Island in June 1903. She was 23 years old, which ties in with the age our Ellie would have been at the time. Furthermore, a World War I draft registration record from 1918 for a Myles Kearney, Irish-born and living in Jersey City, gives the name of a sister named Ellie Kearney of Jersey City as Myles's nearest relative. This ties in with the fact that our Ellie had a brother named Myles who emigrated to the United States in 1915. However, we have no evidence that our Myles ever lived in Jersey City. All we know is that he married in Michigan in 1921 and lived in Michigan for the rest of his life.
