Individual Details

Anne (Annie) Josephine MCPARTLAND

(Jul 1849 - 1911)

According to her marriage certificate, Annie's address at the time of her marriage in 1877 was Rockingham, Co. Roscommon. The occupation of her father, Myles, is given as coachman. Perhaps Myles worked at Rockingham Demesne.

Witnesses to the marriage of Annie and John were Charles Meehan and Catherine McPartland. Presumably Catherine was Annie's sister who married John's brother Peter.

At the time of the 1901 census, Annie, John and their family were living in the station house in the townland of Cartron in the parish of Kilmore, Co. Roscommon. Following John's death in 1905 Annie moved with some of her children to Moycullen, Co. Galway where her son Peter was working as station master. The 1911 census tells us that Annie was still with Peter in Moycullen.

Note: McPartland is sometimes written on documents as McParthlan, Parthlan and Partlan. All the variations seem interchangeable.
