Michael WOULFE

(Abt 1760 - )

Michael's branch of the family were known as the Chapter Woulfes. From what I can gather, they were so called because a chapter of the original family, including (or perhaps comprising) Michael above and a nephew named John, moved from Athea, Co. Limerick in 1795 to Meenoline, Templeglantine, Co. Limerick. Eventually the Meenoline Woulfes became known as the Chapter Woulfes. The Chapter Woulfes are probably related to the so-called Crioch Woulfes (Athea, Co. Limerick) and the Woulfes of Cratloe (Athea) as I have been DNA-matched to members of all three of these branches of the family, presumably the connection being my great-great-grandmother Mary Woulfe of Athea. However I have been unable so far to figure out how Mary might be connected to any of these families.
