Edmond MULVIHILL
( - POSSIBLY ABOUT 1865)
According to family lore Edmond's family was evicted from their farm in Templeathea, Co. Limerick and subsequently moved to the townland of Aughrim in north Co. Kerry. There are several Mulvihill families in north Kerry and it has been very difficult to determine if and how they are related. In the 1901 census there were seven Mulvihill households in Aughrim alone and it appears that one Mulvihill family - husband and wife Edmond and Margaret (née Flaherty) Mulvihill in house no. 11 - is not blood-related to any of the other Mulvihills in Aughrim but we cannot be sure about this.
Patrick Mulvihill, a son of John Mulvihill and Biddy Cunningham of Aughrim, married Ellen Mulvihill, a daughter of Edmond's son Denis in 1898, suggesting these two families were close, and perhaps even blood-related.
