Maurice James WOULFE
(1884 - 2 May 1973)
Maurice was a solicitor. Although born in Scotland, he did his legal training in Dublin and opened a practice in Abbeyfeale, Co. Limerick. In 1916, however, he decided to enlist in the British Army and was due to be sent to France when his unit was ordered to support British forces in Dublin during the 1916 Rising, in which many of his relatives were fighting on the opposing side.
Maurice subsequently saw action in France, where he was gassed, but he lived to return to his practice in Abbeyfeale.
