Individual Details

Richard WOULFE

(1802 - )

Richard's brother James had emigrated to the United States around 1819, eventually settling in Missouri. Sometime in the 1830s the family in Ireland stopped hearing from him so Richard and his brother John travelled to Missouri in 1836 to try to find him. They eventually discovered he had drowned in the Mississippi River. Apparently foul play was suspected but the exact circumstances of his death were never determined. Both Richard and John stayed on in Missouri, settling in Lewis County.
