Richard KISSANE

Although I am not blood-related to Richard's family, several members of my family have, over the generations, married descendants of Richard's. In the course of my research I have come across much information on Richard's family and am including it on this website for the use of Kissane researchers.
Eily Walsh, a descendant of Richard's, has written a book, 'A Family Tree of Richard (the Elder) Kissane (1752-1827)', about her Kissane family. Some of the information below on Richard and his three known sons comes from this well-researched and informative work.
Richard's sons below acquired land as follows: James in Lacca, Lisselton; Richard in Kilcox, Lisselton; and Michael in Kilgarvan, Ballylongford (all in Co. Kerry), leading to the creation of three distinct branches of Eily's Kissane family.
