Individual Details
James (Jamesie Ellen) GALLIVAN
(Abt 1844 - 23 Feb 1927)
James was known as Jamesie Ellen, perhaps because his mother's name was Ellen, although I have been able to determine neither Jamesie's mother's first name nor maiden name.
Jamesie had at least two brother that we know of, Denis who farmed in Rahea and John who ran the "Bon Ton Bar" on Church St. in Listowel. I am told that John's second wife, Peg Galvin, was related to Sr. Irene Stack and her siblings (i.e., the children of Ned Stack and Ciss Ruddle).
I am also told all the Galvin brothers were very tall and of strong physique.
Note: Gortaclahane is also spelled as Gortacloghane and Gortacloghan.
