Hanora (Noreen/J.D.) KEANE

Hanora was known as Noreen or J. D. The J. D. addition was presumably used to distinguish Noreen from other Noreen Keanes in the area at the time. The origin of J. D. was her brother James who was known locally as J. D. which stands for James Daniel. This followed the tradition of calling people by their own first name followed by their father's first name, presumably in order to avoid confusion with members of other local Keane families. James's branch of the Keane family was thereafter known as the 'J. D. Keanes'.
