Individual Details
Richard COLLINS
( - )
Richard took over the Keyes farm (about 44 acres) around the time of his marriage to Mary. They had at least 11 children as the baptisms of 11 of their children are recorded in Moyvane church records between 1863 and 1883. Interestingly. four of these children had Hudson godparents, who appear to have been members of the Hudson family of Kilbaha, Moyvane whom I am also researching. Furthermore, a William Hudson was a witness to the marriage in 1884 of Richard and Mary's eldest daughter, Mary, to Daniel Moloney, whose brother John was married to Margaret Hudson. It therefore seems there was a close connection between the Hudsons and the Collins or Keyes families. The Collins and Keyes families were not neighbours of the Hudsons as Ahalahana is on the north side of the Moyvane village whereas Kilbaha is more to the south, so there may have been a family connection.
Unfortunately I only have the names of those children with Hudsons as sponsors or marriage witnesses. See below.
