According to Griffiths Valuation (c.1850), Daniel had about 73 acres in in Purt (also spelled Port), while his brother John had about 65. Going back further, when the Tithe Applotment books were compiled in 1829, there is ony one Riordan/O'Riordan listed in Purt and that was a Daniel Riordan and he had about 73 acres. This appears to have been our Daniel above, implying John had not yet moved to Purt from Kanturk. Or perhaps Daniel and John's father's name was Daniel and it was he who moved from Kantrk to Purt and it was he who was listed in the Tithe Applotments.
