Individual Details
Patrick GOODWIN
(1849 - 1918)
Patrick emigrated to the United States around 1862 with his mother. I am told that upon arrival his mother sent him back to Ireland to prevent him from joining the Union Army during the Civil War. He returned to the States around 1867, and from the 1870 census we know he was in Lexington, Kentucky working as a miner. By the time of the 1880 census he was a harness maker in Carlisle, Kentucky.
