Individual Details
James QUINN (caution: marriage not verified)
(1798 - 13 May 1861)
We are not entirely certain that Catherine, daughter of Cornelius Shanahan and Mary Dillane, married James as there was another Catherine Shanahan in the area at the time who married a Patrick Buckley and who lived in Kilbaha and had a child named Julia or Juliann, baptised on 11 September 1839. However, the fact that Catherine and James had a son named Cornelius makes me think it was James who married Cornelius and Mary's daughter.
James, Catherine and their family emigrated to the United States, probably in the 1850s, where they went by the name of McQuinn. They appear to have settled in the Paris area of Kentucky.
