(15 Feb 1865 - 17 Jun 1943)
Hugh, who also went by the name Hubert, emigrated to the United States, arriving in New York on 16 February 1893, his occupation on the ship manifest being "coachman". However by 1894 Hugh was working in Philadelphia as a bartender.
Two of the seven daughters of Hugh and his wife, Rose, joined the Sisters of St. Joseph, becoming Sr. Ann de Lourdes and Sr. Rose Mystica, but we are unsure as to which of their daughters entered the convent. Their only son died in childhood. Hugh himself died aged 78 of myocarditis and colon cancer.
