Maurice LANE
(Abt 6 Feb 1875 - 13 Mar 1929)
Maurice was ordained a priest in Maynooth and around 1901 was sent to Melbourne, Australia. After two years in Melbourne he asked to be moved to Queensland for health reasons. He went on to serve in the diocese of Rockhampton, Queensland and was later appointed parish priest of Longreach, Queensland. He subsequently spent a number of years as parish priest of Ipswich Road in Brisbane before poor health necessitated a move to the drier climate of Roma, Queenland, but he was not in Roma long before he died at the age of 54.
