Bridget TREACY

According to an article in the 2010 Tippperary Historical Journal on the Treacys of Soloheadbeg, Bridget was a daughter of my great-great-grandparents John Treacy and Mary Looby. However, Bridget's marriage records tells us her father's name was Thomas rather than John.
I have been DNA-matched by Ancestry with a great-grandson of Bridget's (presumably through the Treacys) so it does appear that Bridget was related to John. However, the type of match between myself and Bridget's great-grandson indicates a high likelihood that Bridget was a daughter of John rather than a child of a brother or cousin of John's; and from a newspaper account of a 1977 court case involving Catherine Ryan (née Treacy) - who was a daughter of John's - and members of her late husband's family, we know that another daughter of John's (first name not provided) was married to a Mr Coffey (Clonmel Chronicle of 21 July 1877). This makes me think that the father's name on Bridget's marriage record might be incorect and that it should perhaps have been John rather than Thomas.
