Jane BOYDE

(Abt 1798 - 7 Dec 1879)

Jane's family were probably descended from Scottish settlers. The family name appears to be spelled as Boyd as well as Boyde.

Jane and her husband, William, may have had another son, named Michael, as the New South Wales Assited Immigrant Passenger Lists show that a Michael O'Hara, aged 28 and from Cootehall, Co. Roscommon, arrived aboard the Hornet in New South Wales, Australia on 25 January 1865. Michael was therefore born about 1836 which fits in with the births of the children of Jane and William. Or perhaps Michael was a son of William's brother Roger and his wife Maria Murray who also had children around the same time that Michael was born.
