Catherine Mary (Kathy Mai) DEE

Kathy Mai, who never married, was the eldest of Jerry and Nora's nine children. According to her obituary in The Kerryman newspaper, "After leaving school she went to work for a short time with her mother's relations, the Collins family of Abbeyfeale. From there she went to Domestic Science School in Navan, following which she got her first job in the West Court Hotel, Drogheda. Not entirely happy with her new surroundings, she saw an ad for house maid with Mrs Kelly, The Twenties, Drogheda. She applied for the position and was taken on and thus began a lifelong friendship as she worked for the Kelly family for 65 years."
