Matthew's marriage certificate tells us he was from Cordery (presumably Corderry, Galbally, Co. Limerick. I have also seen Corderry spelled as Coroderry.
Matthew farmed in Corderry prior to emigrating with his family to the United States in 1898. He died at the age of about 53.
