Ellen and Laurence farmed in the townlands of Cleigna (Clegna), Derrygirraun and Cloongreaghan in the Cootehall area of Co. Roscommon.
It has been suggested that Ellen was closely related to - perhaps a sister of - Winifred Meehan from Cootehall who married Thomas Logan.
It has also been suggested that Ellen and Laurence had a daughter named Jane, born about 1844 who married John Doyle in 1860. I have this Jane as a daughter of William O'Hara and Jane Boyde, but this couold be incorrect.
Finally, could Ellen have been related to Margaret Meehan who married Patrick O'Hara, nephew of Ellen's husband, Laurence?
