Individual Details

Timothy (Tim) BROSNAN

(29 Jun 1883 - Aft 1941)

Tim emigrated to the United States in 1907.

Tim's year of birth above is taken from his baptism record located on the Irish Genealogy website. The day and month of birth are taken from the following records found for Tim which all tell us he was born on 29 June (which fits perfectly with his day and month of baptism) but which give different years of birth:

29 June 1880 from Tim's World War I Draft Registration Card
29 June 1881 from the United states Social Security Applications and Claims Index
29 June 1882 from Tim's World War II Draft Registration Card
29 June 1883 from Tim's Declaration of Intention papers (for naturalization)

My hunch is that Tim's year of birth was 1883 based on the fact that baptism records are generally accurate (assuming there was no transcription error on the part of Irish Genealogy).

From Tim's Declaration of Intention papers, dated 7 March 1910, we know that he was living in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at the time and that was a grocery clerk. By 1918, according to his World War I Draft Registration Card, he was working as a conductor for the Pittsburgh Railways Company. Tim's World War II Draft Registration Card, from 1942, tells us that his employer at that time was the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company and that he was still living in Pittsburgh.
