According to the 1911 census Johanna and her second husband, John, had been married for 27 years and had had nine children born alive, eight of whom were still alive at the time of the census, although I have managed to discover the names of only seven. An obituary for Johanna tells us she had at least four daughters because listed among the chief mourners at her funeral are daughters Mrs. Buckley; Mrs. Shine whose husband's name was Patrick and who lived in Moyvane, Co. Kerry; Mrs. Relihan; and Mrs O'Connor whose husband's name was John and who lived in Newcastle West, Co. Limerick. From census records we know the names of all four daughters (assuming the daughters listed on the census were those mentioned in the obituary): Bridget, Nora (both from her first marriage), Mary and Kathleen but we do not know who married whom.
