Brigid FLAHAVAN

Brigid was a member of the Flahavan family, owners of the well-known oat milling company based in Kilmacthomas, Co. Waterford.

Brigid and her husband, John, had six sons and two daughters. Two of the sons emigrated to Australia, one went to the United States and the remaining three (believed to be Edward, Maurice and Thomas), along with the two girls, stayed in Ireland.

Brigid was related to the Flahavan families of Glenhouse and Kilnagrange, Kilmacthomas, and by marriage to Rev. Maurice Cheasty (c.1865-1932) who was a priest in Carrick-on-Suir at the time of her death.
