Mary (Pinky) Reiffenstein
(1930 - 25 Nov 2011)
Mary was known as "Pinky" from childhood since she was the Pink Child as named by her grandfather (E. T. Lightbourn). She was the daughter of John Christopher and Lesley Reiffenstein. She trained as a nurse at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. After graduation she nursed at the King Edward VII hospital in Bermuda. On her return to Canada, in 1953, she did Post Graduate work at the Montreal Neurological Institute and nursed there until 1957.
Pinky was an enthusiastic member of the Royal Ottawa Golf Club for many years, where she enjoyed playing Golf and Bridge. She supported her family in their endeavours in Alpine skiing, Equestrianism, Sailing and Golf.
She came by her love of golf from her grandfather, E. T. Lightbourn who was a golfer and also President of Oakville Golf Club where he "could be seen on the "links" at least three times a week."
