The immigrant Thomas' father was John - also an immigrant, leaving Thomas and a lame daughter in Massachusetts in 1639 per Essex Co. Probate records (v 1 p 12) and records of the Colony of Mass. Bay (v 1 p 286) based upon testimony of Thomas.
Estate of John Blumfield of Newbury: The Court of Assistants, held at Boston, a quarter court, 3:1:1629-40 (sic), appointed Thom. Blumfeild administrator to his father, John Blumfeild, deceased, and to have the house and ground; the lame daughter to have the overplus of the goods not disposed of. Mass. Wife Mary; children—John (eldest son), Ezekiel (youngest), Nathaniel; grandsons—Timothy, son of Ezekiel; Thomas, son of John. House and lot in Woodbridge, home lot meadow on Papiack Creek, land at Langster's Plains, lot of Raraton meadows, personal property. Executors—the wife and son Nathaniel. Witness—Samuel Moore. Proved March 5, 1685-6.
