Tobias Feake

(1622 - 1668)

He abandoned his family around 1662, went to Holland, then back to England and was associated with the British Navy.
His mother and father died when he was quite young, and he became the ward of Tobias Dixon, husband of his aunt Alice Feake, for whom he was undoubtedly named (no Tobias in the Feake family before him). He moved with his uncle to Germany and lived there some years until he was sent across the Atlantic to live with his paternal uncle, Lieut. Robert Feake, at Watertown, MA. He later lived in Flushing, Long Island, NY. In 1662 he sailed for the Netherlands to collect an inheritance due his first wife Anna from her Van Beyeren relatives. He never returned, deserting his wife Mary and her children. He appears to have become a mariner.
