Richard Cheever
(1660 - 1709)
Information on Richard Cheever can be found in Boston, MA: Inhabitants and Estates of the Town of Boston, 1630-1822 (Thwing Collection); this information has been downloaded; it is available through NEHGS.
Bartholomew Cheever (d.1693) immigrated in 1637 from England to Boston, Massachusetts and, because he had no children, sent to his brother Daniel in England for one of Daniel's sons to immigrate and inherit Bartholomew's estate. Richard Cheever (1660-1709), the youngest son of Daniel, immigrated to join his uncle and inherit from him. Descendants and relatives lived in New England, New Jersey, Maryland and elsewhere. (It has since been established that Richard is not the son of Daniel, as Daniel had emigrated himself by 1645 and all his children were born in New England.)
