Blanche W Abbott
(16 May 1886 - 1933)
Most of us remember great aunt Polly and at least know of great aunt Elma Hoffman, or at least that we had Hoffman cousins. But who is great aunt Blanche? Our grandfather Fred Abbott had an older sister Blanche Wilson Abbott. She married Clarence Henry Greeley in 1908. They lived in several places, but the two known for sure are Ohio and Pennsylvania. Blanche and Clarence had two children, Gordon Clarence and Barbara Ella. Both of those children are deceased. Bev Chassler mentioned that her mother had told her there was a Greeley cousin (referring to Gordon) who always threatened to leave home as soon as he was 18, which he apparently did. It turns out that Gordon Clarence Greely turned up in Florida and changed his name to Michael S. Gordon. He had a least one child, Mike Gordon, whom I tried to contact but have not heard from.
Blanche Abbott was born May 16, 1886 in Brockton, Massachusetts. She died in 1933 in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania where she is buried. She died at age 47 of breast cancer.
