Individual Details
(1620 - 1696)
Edward came to America in May 1637 on the ship Hercules, with John Witherley as master. The ship left from the Port of Sandwich, County Kent, England. He is listed on the passenger lists as a servant to Joseph Bachelor of Canterbury, who was a carpenter. He was more than likely an apprentice to Joseph. He was admitted to the Salem church in 1645 and shortly thereafter married Elizabeth Porter. When they left Salem, they sold their lot to Thomas Solas on July 29, 1658, for 13 pounds payable in English goods at William Brown's shop. After they moved to Long Island, Edward has two references made to property he sold. No reference is made as to when Elizabeth died, but he remarried to Mary Marsh in 1671. The last record of Edward is in 1696.
