Individual Details
Elizabeth Thompson
(1675 - 13 November 1747)
This is not at all clear. Some sources say she was the daughter of Thomas and Mary Thompson, but that does not seem possible. The Elizabeth who is the daughter of Thomas was born in 1657 and married someone else. There is a Mary Thompson thought to be the daughter of Thomas's son Aaron, and some sources suggest that it is Mary who married Samuel Miller. The abstract of Samuel's will states wife Elizabeth. His will was written in 1735, although he died in 1759. Elizabeth died in 1747.
One source says her name might be Elizabeth Riggs, although further looking suggests that this is not possible.
Step daughter of Aaron Thompson who died 1695. Doris Horvath says "The Miller files call Samuel's wife Elizabeth Thompson, dau. of Thomas and Mary
Thompson. Thomas was a fairly old man when he died in 1675, and there is no indication his daughter was an infant when he died. It is also suggested that she was the daughter of Joseph Riggs of Newark, N.J., who died in 1685."
However, there is a 2009 article in The Genealogist by Robert Charles Anderson that has Elizabeth the daughter of Joseph Riggs marrying Daniel Dod who came from Connecticut.
