FLORENCE M. WYSE: Newspaper Obituary and Death Notice
Blade, The (Toledo, OH) - Saturday, June 27, 1998
Deceased Name: FLORENCE M. WYSE
Florence M. Wyse, retired Colonial Finance Company assistant manager, also associated with a drive-in theater and a family-operated mobile court, died of congestive heart failure Thursday in Fulton Manor, Wauseon. She was 92.

Ill for nearly two years with abdominal problems, Mrs. Wyse had been a patient at the nursing facility for a month, said her son, H. Eugene Wyse.

For 30 years, from 1933 to 1963, she was assistant manager at the Colonial Finance Co., Wauseon, and its successor, the American Finance Co. Her late husband, LeRoy Wyse, who was employed as a finance company manager, also retired in 1963. He died in 1985.

A few years before retirement, Mr. and Mrs. Wyse and their son, Richard, bought and operated the Star Auto Theater on State Rt. 108 in Wauseon. H. Eugene Wyse said that although his parents later became inactive in the enterprise, the theater continues under direction of his brother, Richard Wyse.

In 1960, prior to retirement from the finance company, Mr. and Mrs. Wyse, and their children formed a corporation, building a 50-space Star Mobile Court adjacent to the theater. The operation was sold after 10 years, H. Eugene Wyse said.

A lifelong Wauseon resident and a graduate of the Wauseon High School, Mrs. Wyse was a member of St. Caspar Catholic Church, the Catholic Ladies of Columbia, the Rosary-Altar Society, and a former member of the Wauseon Business and Professional Women.

Alberta Wyse, daughter-in-law, said that Mr. and Mrs. Wyse frequently wintered in the Orlando area. Mrs. Wyse, she added, was talented in ceramics and made many beautiful gifts. She was skilled at crocheting and needlework.

Surviving are her sons, H. Eugene and Richard D. Wyse; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grand children, and one great great-grandchild.

Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Caspar. The body will be in the Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home, Wauseon after 2 p.m. today.

The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. tomorrow in the funeral home. The family suggests that any contributions be to St. Caspar Catholic Church or to the St. Vincent De Paul Society.
