Obituary: Ruth E. Heim Ruth Elizabeth Gasche Heim, 69, Kansas City, Kan., a former teacher for the Kansas State School for the Visually Handicapped, died May 15, 1991, at Bethany Medical Center. Mrs. Heim taught at the school for 23 years, retiring in 1986. Earlier she taught in the Kalvesta, Kan., school system for two years. She was a member and deaconess of the Central Christian Church, Kansas City, Kan.. She taught religion and directed children's programs at that church, the Chelsea Park Christian Church and the First Church of God of Kansas City, Kan.
She was a member of the Kansas Association for the Blind and Visually Handicapped. She received a bachelor's degree in education from the Hays (Kan.) State Teachers College and a master's degree in education of the emotionally disturbed from the University of Kansas. She was born in Garden City, Kan., and moved to Kansas City, Kan., in 1943. Survivors include her husband, Kenneth E. Heim of the home; a son, Ralph Heim, Wheat Ridge, Colo.; three daughters, Valerie Hurt, White Plains, N.Y., Kenna Krause, Lincolnville, Kan., and Donna Rose-Heim, Odessa, Mo.; a sister, Mary Louise Kreutzer, Leavenworth; seven grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the church; burial in Chapel Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Porter Chapel. The family requests no flowers and suggests contributions to the Ruth Heim Memorial Fund at the church.
