Stryker:
Rosella F. Buehrer left her rural Stryker home to be with her Lord early March 20, following a brief illness. She was born in West Unity, Ohio on September 9, 1932, the daughter of the late Waldo and the late Florence (Johnson) Nafziger. On September 9, 1951, she married Eldred Buehrer, who survives.
She was the proud mother of four sons, Ricky (Marcia Rae), Randy (Marsha Kay), Rodney (Lori) all of Stryker and Reggie (Penny) of Van Wert. She was blessed to have ten grandchildren: Christopher (Jessica) Buehrer, Angela (Dan) Riegsecker, Stephen (Skye) Buehrer, Nicholas (Laura) Buehrer, Alicia (Phil) Moline-Buehrer, Joshua Buehrer, Dustin (Rachel) Buehrer, Jason (Jessica) Buehrer, Erin Buehrer and Katie Buehrer.
Adding great joy to her life were great-grandchildren: Abigail, Clayten, Caleb, Shawn, Spencer Buehrer and Isaac and Elias Riegsecker. She was preceded in death by greatgrand twins, Miley & Peyton Buehrer. Also surviving are sisters Jeanette (Darrell) Goebel Stryker, Donna (Dwight) Green Coldwater MI and brother Paul (Lola) Nafziger, Colorado Spring, Colorado.
Rosella graduated from Stryker Local Schools in 1950 and worked there as school secretary for several years. She was a member of First Lutheran Church of Stryker. The church choir was a special joy to direct and the annual Christmas Eve service was filled with wonderful praise to her Lord. She also enjoyed directing and singing with the Joyful Singers.
Together Eldred & Rosella worked side by side for over 50 years to grow their family business, Buehrer Power Equipment. She also had her own business of baking cakes. Over the years many area brides served her beautiful creations.
Her love of music began at an early age. Together with her sisters and mother they were known as the Red Hats. For many years they sang on a weekly radio program and at many area functions. She also was a charter member of the Top of Ohio Sweet Adelines in Williams County. When they disbanded she joined The Pride of Toledo Sweet Adelines. Every Tuesday evening for 50 years she could be found singing with "the girls." She received special recognition earlier this year for 50 years of singing.
After retirement she spent many happy hours tending her beautiful flower gardens, sewing, quilting and enjoying her family. Family and friends will greatly miss her but the Lord has called her home to Him. No doubt she is singing His praises as she strolls thru His heavenly gardens.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at the First Lutheran Church in Stryker, with Pastor Dane Meuschke, officiating. Interment will follow in the Zion Cemetery, near Stryker. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Memorials may be given to First Lutheran Church, Hospice of Williams and Fulton Counties, or the Gideons International. Grisier Funeral Home in Stryker has been entrusted with arrangements.
