The Baileys Benjamin Frank and Ella E. Bailey took Alice Clark into their home in the fall of 1884 after Alice's mother died in Aug 1884. Her father was Charles A. Clark b. CT ca 1846 d. CT ca 1905. 1 year and 8 mos after his second grandchild in Mich was born. Charles A Clark was married to Sarah Jane Rogers (b. Adrian MI ca 1844- dau of Albert Rogers (b CT ca 1809) and Ellen (b. Ireland 1805). Vivian Steele never know that her grandfather, Charles A. Clark lived for such a long time after her Mother was taken to live with the Baileys. This information was discovered after Marlene started working on the family tree. All she was ever told was that her mother had an older brother, Edwin living in CT. She knew of her Aunt Myrtle (Clark) Mahaffey, her mother's sister. She did not know who raised her. In reality there were 2 other boys and 1 other girl in the family (Clark). As of 1979 nothing more has been discovered.
