"Farena was expecting her third child in Dec of 1876. Complications, possibly due to the death of an unborn baby set in. They had no surgery then, so there was nothing to do but wait to die. She would look over the fields of the farm that they had bought, the house they were building, and where they had hoped to live alone with their family. She said, I can see the promised land, but will never get there."
The following is a quote from the writings of Jess Wyse talking about his great-grandmother. "Farena was expecting her third child in Dec of 1876.
