New England Journal, August 5, 1728 'We are informed that some days ago, Mr. Benjamin Wentworth riding over a bridge (otherwise called the boom) in the river in Cochecho, New Hampshire, fell into the said river , where both he and his horse were drowned.' 'The boom referred to was where the bridge, a few rods above the lower falls, in Dover, New Hampshire, now stands'
