Joan M. Rossley BOVINA CENTER - Joan M. Rossley, 68, of Bovina Center, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City. The daughter of Harold and Ruth (Gibbs) Fynaut, she was born May 15, 1931, in Lyons, where she grew up, and married Edward F. Rossley on March 22, 1947. Since her husband's military retirement, the Rossleys have been Bovina Center residents for the past 30 years. Joan was employed for 25 years as a teacher's aide at Delaware Academy, Delhi. As an only child, her fondness of children and the special attention she gave to them enhanced her work both in school and home-life. She was an active parishioner and sang in the choir at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Delhi. Joan will also be remembered (with humor) for her avid attraction to and participation in Bingo games. Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Edward F. Rossley; two sons and their wives, Joseph and Caroline Rossley of Marinette, Wis., and Edward T. and Gretchen Rossley of Bovina Center; three daughters and their husbands, Cynthia and Randal Hill of Ellisville, Miss., and Honora and Byron Trimbell and Roberta and Robert Burgin, all of Bovina Center; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two cousins, Robert and William Yorkey. She was predeceased in 1976, by a grandson, Mark Rossley. Friends are invited to call today (Thursday) at the Hall & Peet Funeral Home, Delhi, where the family will be in attendance 6 to 9 p.m. and a vigil service will be held at 8:30 p.m. The funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 18, at St. Peter's Church, with the Rev. Edward J. Ryan presiding. Final commendation and burial will be later in the Bovina Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bovina Emergency Squad or the American Diabetes Association, 7 Washington Square, Albany, N.Y. 12205. Arrangements are entrusted to Robert A. Peet, Delhi.
